New York Fashion Week - Spring 2013

Spring 2013 collections are looking hot, I'm getting excited and fall has barely started. The fashion will be amazing, though so far I'm so overwhelmed by all of the shows and everything going on this past few days. My favorite collections so far have been:

Zac Posen

Zac returns the elegance, and feminine style dresses I was born to love. How can you not love Naomi Campbell opening up for this show?!!

I loved all of the long dresses, the fabrics and colors and most of all the femininity and elegance.

Coco Rocha closes the show channeling old Hollywood glamour in this cream white strapless number with cascading ruffles. Can't believe I just met her last week at IFBCON, she's such a sweetheart. I see a lot of Zac Posen dresses as options for the red carpet, of course worn by the A list leading ladies. Zac knows his client base well.

Marc Jacobs - two words, stripes and midriffs.

His collection goes to show that there will be a lot of midriff showings this upcoming Spring/Summer season. Better start doing situps now as this will be a trend I'll be taking to the streets. I'm loving the stripes.

My thoughts on the last candy-cane piece are, if this is a dress, or even a sign of how short skirts are about to become, God help us all.

BCBG MaxAzria

The dresses were so cool and edgy, channeling a sexy vixen with the added leather details and the ankle strap heels meow. I'm looking forward to ordering a couple of dresses from this collection! The heels are just killer.

 Jason Wu

Carolyn Murphy opens the show, I'm always glad to see some of the more mature models with curvier bodies opening shows - almost like they're showing the new wave of model-teens they still got it. (because they do)

Out of all the Spring shows, Jason Wu was one of my top favorites. I love how he incorporates leather, my inner sultry vixen cannot wait to channel some of these looks. Midriffs again, lots of leather detailing, lace, feminine dresses with a street edge and leather shorts (mostly high waist styles). Though I would have preferred to see more color as he stuck mostly to black/white with a few pieces in coral and royal blue.
